2008 Aug 4

and now an update!

Hi all.

A lot has been happening in the combat arts over the past month or so.

Baronial Day Tournaments

These have been very well attended with an average of eight or so combatants participating in the lists.

A big thank you to those who come along to watch, tournaments are always much better with a decent gallery, and we do appreciate people coming out in the cooler weather.

The prise sword has been presented at each tournament with the bearers being Sir Bruise, Neil of the Orkneys, Count Steven and myself (am I forgetting anyone).

These tournaments provide an excellent opportunity for those who are interested in getting involved to come and take a turn at marshalling, heralding or just joining in.

Preceding the heavy tournament has been a fencing tournament. These have also been well attended. Of interest is the number of regular heavy combatants who are giving fencing a go and not doing too badly. Maybe this is a challenge to the fencers to try out some heavy fighting……

Politarchopolis combatants have also been doing well down in Boarders Cross. Neil of the Orkneys and Alicia de Cheval Blanc fought in the Boarders Cross Monthly Bash, coming first and second respectively. This weekend, Adair McDermott  and Caer Sionnach also respectively coming first and second at the inaugural Loch Alber  tournament.

See you all on the field.
