Apologies for the layout bugs in Internet Explorer. I hadn’t noticed that WordPress sticks some extra stuff in the sidebar code that makes it look funny. I’ll hunt that down and fix it as soon as I can. In the mean time, please save yourself a lot of pain and get a real browser like everyone else. Thank you.
The header graphic for this XenoTheme, Balloon, comes from balloon race, a photo taken by WarOnString, aka Andrew Lyo, and is used with his gracious permission. I found it via a Flickr group for “wallpapers” (images suitable for use as desktop backgrounds) aggregated via a list of wallpaper sites on Smashing Magazine.
Hope you like it, since it’s the default for personal.flurf.net now. Once I’ve made a few more alternative themes, I’ll make it possible for individual blog owners to choose their own. As always, if you have any suitable images, 96 pixels high by at least a thousand pixels wide, let me know and I’ll see if I can use them too.
I have a gorgeous new XenoTheme ready, but I’m waiting on permission from the owner of the main image. If and when he gives it, I’ll make it the default on personal.flurf.net, because it beats the current Trees theme hands-down. If anyone else has a slice of graphic gorgeousness 96 pixels high and at least 1000 pixels wide, please let me know and I’ll make it an option too. The more the merrier, once I get a rudimentary XenoTheming feature working.
Here we go then: personal.flurf.net is finally working more-or-less the way I want it, and the stylesheets are pretty good (although that banner image will be changing shortly). If you look at my primary site, flurf.net, you’ll see that the styles here are identical. Gods willing, you’ll see them working identically well in all manner of modern browsers too, but frankly if you’re using Internet Explorer I can’t promise that cosmetic repairs will ever have much priority. Get Firefox and stop wasting your time.
